Terms of service

Effective and last updated: 3 September 2026 · Operated by Essor AWD

These terms form the agreement between you and Essor AWD for use of Faultfolio, a subscription service that helps one vehicle owner record and organise their own evidence about vehicle faults. By creating an account or paying for a subscription you accept these terms.

What Faultfolio is

Faultfolio is a record-keeping tool. It stores the notes, dates, mileage readings, warning-light and fault-code descriptions, garage statements, photographs, documents and audio you choose to add, and presents them back to you as a timeline and as downloadable reports. Faultfolio does not diagnose faults, inspect vehicles, certify roadworthiness, guarantee repairs, assess warranty or finance claims, adjudicate disputes or provide legal or engineering advice. See the safety disclaimer.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a contract. Faultfolio Solo is a consumer product for one named account holder and one personal vehicle. It is not sold for household, team, company or fleet use, and each account supports a single vehicle record.

Your account and security

You are responsible for the email address and password used to access your account, for keeping those credentials confidential, and for activity carried out through your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed by someone else. We may require email confirmation and may restrict access where an account appears compromised.

Your evidence and content

Your records and uploaded files remain yours. You grant Essor AWD a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, store, transmit, back up, encode, display back to you and process that content solely to operate, secure and support the Faultfolio service you have asked for — including generating your reports and exports. We do not use your evidence to advertise, and we do not sell it. The licence ends when the content is deleted, apart from copies retained temporarily in routine backups or where the law requires retention.

You confirm you have the right to upload what you upload, and that it relates to your own vehicle record. Prohibited content and behaviour are described in the acceptable use policy, which forms part of these terms.

Subscriptions and payment

Faultfolio Solo costs £1.00 for the first month for an eligible new account and then £4.99 per month, renewing automatically until you cancel. There is no free trial. Payments are processed by Stripe, and full card details are handled by Stripe rather than stored in Faultfolio's application database. Paid access is required to create or change vehicle, fault, evidence and reminder records. Full billing detail, including failed payments and refunds, is in the payment, subscription and refund policy.

Cancellation

You can cancel at any time through the billing-management option in Faultfolio. Cancelling stops future renewal charges and normally leaves your access in place until the end of the billing period you have already paid for. Cancelling a subscription is not the same as requesting a refund, and it does not by itself delete your account or evidence — see account and data deletion.

Service availability and changes

We aim to keep Faultfolio available and reliable, but it is provided over the internet and may be interrupted by maintenance, updates, third-party outages or events outside our control. We may add, change or withdraw features to improve or secure the service. Where a change materially reduces the paid service, you may cancel, and your statutory rights are unaffected. We may update these terms; the effective date at the top of this page identifies the current version, and continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Intellectual property

The Faultfolio name, branding, software, interfaces, report layouts and documentation belong to Essor AWD or its licensors. You may use them only as needed to use the service. You may not copy, resell, reverse engineer, scrape or create derivative services from Faultfolio, except where the law expressly permits it.

Disclaimers and liability

Faultfolio does not warrant that the records you create will achieve any particular outcome with a garage, manufacturer, dealer, insurer, finance provider, ombudsman or court, and it is not a substitute for professional inspection or advice. You remain responsible for your vehicle, for its legal roadworthiness, and for decisions about driving or repairing it.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or under mandatory consumer law. Subject to that, we are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, for loss caused by your own failure to keep your own copies of important documents, or for the acts, statements or work of any garage or third party.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end access where payment fails, where the acceptable use policy is breached, where access is needed to protect other users or the service, or where the law requires it. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why and give you an opportunity to put things right. You may stop using Faultfolio at any time by cancelling and, if you wish, deleting your account.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your home nation, and you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer protections available where you live.

Contact

Questions about these terms can be sent to Essor AWD using the contact method published at essorawd.com. Please do not include payment-card details or vehicle evidence files in a general enquiry.
